Fault Code for Ionizer Short to Ground Is Stored in the IHKA
MODEL
F01, F02, F04 (7 Series)
F07, F10 (5 Series)
Vehicles produced from 8/31/2010 to 2/28/2011
SITUATION
During diagnosis, the vehicle test displays fault code 0X8011FD "PATT module, signal cable: short circuit to ground or break in the
circuit". This fault is stored in the IHKA control module. The customer will not experience any operational failure due to this fault.
CAUSE
The ionizer is not installed in the vehicle.
INFORMATION
Do not replace any part or install any parts.
The ionizer was not installed in vehicles with a production date of 9/01/2010 or newer. As a result, fault code 0x8011FD is stored in the
IHKA. There are no functionality errors. This fault can be ignored and deleted from the IHKA control module.
A solution is expected with the release of ISTA/P 2.41.0 in March 2011.
This bulletin will be updated once ISTA/P2.41.0 is released.
